Celebrities have so many tricks up their sleeves, especially when it comes to their style. They’ve always got to look their best for the red carpet, but their fancy gowns require more thought than you may think. SheFinds’ resident celebrity expert and assistant stylist Brianna Peters shared some of the tips celebrities always follow when choosing their red carpet outfits:

Celebrity Styling Tricks

1. Never Turn Down A Good Pair Of Spanx

Behind every amazing red carpet dress, is a good pair of Spanx. They keep everything in place so you can enjoy your night out without worrying. “People don’t always pay attention to their undergarments but I’ve found that investing in proper pieces to wear underneath your clothes can significantly upgrade how your clothes look,” Brianna explains. If panty lines are one of your top concerns, Brianna says that a lot of celebs are obsessed with Commando’s Perfect Stretch Thongs because of their no-show, comfortable fabric.

2. Use A Belt To Define Your Waist

Belts allow you to show off your figure by defining your waist. “A simple (or intricate) belt can not only chicly accessorize your look, but it always doubles as a tool to help define your waist,” Brianna says. “If you find yourself trying on a dress or jumpsuit and feeling like a blob, a belt can break up the fabric and flatter your shape.”

3. Embrace Bold Colors & Patterns

Regardless of your age or preference, there are always fun, trendy colors and patterns you can incorporate into your wardrobe. They allow you to show off your playful side and give the world a glimpse of your personality. “Don’t be afraid to play with prints and colors. Beige shouldn’t be your go-to color for everything. Trying out fresh prints, colors and textures can all contribute to your sartorial success and definitely help you look (and feel!) younger,” Brianna says.

4.  Opt For Flared Silhouettes

If things aren’t as tight as they used to be, choosing dresses that offer a flared silhouette are always a good idea. But, that doesn’t mean that you should only wear baggy, frumpy ones. “When in doubt, try a fit and flare silhouette,” Brianna suggests. “It’s quite possibly one of the most flattering silhouettes because it gives you a shape up top but begins to flare out at your waist so it doesn’t hug around your stomach or thighs.”
