Shame on anyone who had doubts that Lily James could step into Pamela Anderson’s shoes, as the latest pictures released from Hulu’s Pam & Tommy movie – as well as the brand new trailer – should silence even the harshest of critics! The 32-year-old Cinderella actress looks a million miles away from her usual self, as she looks the spitting image of the iconic now 54-year-old Baywatch star. We were almost convinced that we were staring at Anderson herself in the trailer, so we are beyond excited to see her in action when the show premieres next month!
Not only have the hair, makeup, wardrobe, and (we assume) prosthetics departments exceeded themselves with Lily’s transformation, but the English actress herself has outdone herself in terms of her portrayal of the former Playboy model. Lily has nailed everything from Pamela’s instantly recognizable voice to her mannerisms and so much more – we genuinely believe that she is truly Anderson’s doppelgänger!
Lily said that physically getting into character took four whole hours, and involved a chest plate, platinum blonde wig, long fingernails, and fake tan, among other things. “Slowly, our incredible team found a balance where I resembled Pamela but also felt like I could act through it,” the actress told People about the transformation. “I’ve never done anything where I look very different from myself before. And I’d really like to continue in this vein, because I felt there was something very freeing and liberating in it.”
“There was a bravery that came from that. A courage that came from… disappearing,” Lily continued, before adding that the transformation meant “there was just so much character to hold on to — it was really thrilling.” We’ll say!

It isn’t just Lily’s transformation which has blown us away, as Sebastian Stan – who plays the role of Tommy Lee – looks almost identical to the Mötley Crüe drummer too. And we need a moment to appreciate the mullet and overall transformation of Seth Rogen, who plays the role of Rand Gauthier, the contractor who gained possession of Pamela and Tommy’s infamous honeymoon sex tape. The trailer is worth watching just to see his transformation!
The eight-part limited series follows Pamela and Tommy from their 1995 wedding to the birth of their children to the moment their sex tape was stolen and then leaked for the world to see.
