After Harry and Meghan’s bombshell decision to leave the royal family in favor of a more private life, new details are emerging about the repercussions their choice had on the rest of the royal family.
Specifically, the relationship–and apparent tension–between Prince William and his younger brother has generated a lot of speculation.
Most recently, reports have surfaced about how the brothers left matters--and it looks as though things are still tense.
Though the royal family was able to come to an agreement quickly after Harry and Meghan's announcement, it seems that some things remain unresolved, especially between the two brothers.
“They didn’t leave on good terms by any means, but they are both relieved that it’s over,” a family friend told People.
Although Harry and Meghan's decision has been the subject of massive public scrutiny, much of which is centered on their relationship to Prince William and Kate Middleton , it does seem as though the couple is ultimately happy with their decision to take a step away from royal duties (and the corresponding media attention).
With that in mind, it seems as though "Megxit" may have put a strain on the brothers' relationship, it seems that the royal family is starting to recover from the shock.
The family friend continues, "Perhaps [Meghan and Harry] didn’t think things through exactly as they could have, but they wanted to be happy. Who can blame them for that?"
