After rendering fans speechless with her barely-there look for the London premiere on September 11th, the 35-year-old Oscar-nominated actress wore a more covered up, chic look for a promotional appearance in the capital city. But it was a little divisive…

For an interview on BBC Radio One, where she discussed the fact that Kylie Minogue said she wanted Margot to play her in a movie, the Barbie star wore some on-trend high-waisted flared jeans from the Chanel Resort 2026 collection, teamed with a suede crystal and pearl embellished trim vest with a super-revealing plunging front. The Chanel ambassador accessorized with an oversized suede jacket in the same color, also by the French fashion house, and carried a perfectly-matching Chanel quilted top handle bag. She finished off her outfit with some leg-elongating strappy Manolo Blahnik heels and small black sunglasses.

While some fans loved the Wuthering Heights star’s chic, coordinated outfit, many others did not, calling the look “unflattering” and too “revealing,” among other things. “Sorry but no,” slammed one unimpressed fan on Instagram. “What’s the deal with all the flesh revealing Margot?” asked a second, as a third said: “That top is very unflattering.”

“That does not look like a comfortable top,” a fourth chimed in, as a fifth declared: “Nahhh this ain’t a good look.” “What a bizarre shirt,” thought a sixth, as a seventh added: “I’m not understanding that top.” “What is happening here?” asked an eighth confused fan, as a ninth said: “God the fashion trends nowadays are SO unflattering.”
