Shrinkflation” continues to disappoint fast food fans everywhere. The latest complaints on Reddit come from disgruntled McDonald’s patrons being served sad breakfasts—and calling for a renamed menu item.

A post by user Ok-Advice2963 reads: “My ‘Big’ breakfast: McDonald’s should seriously remove the word ‘Big’ from their breakfast, this thing looks so sad,” complete with shows a tray with scrambled eggs, a tiny piece of steak, and a plain biscuit. Instead of a hearty, filling platter, customers say it looks like something straight out of a cafeteria line.

Read what people are saying—and why many say they’ve given up on the chain altogether—below.

Reddit Users React to Sad McDonald’s Meal

The reaction online to the meager McDonald’s breakfast been brutal. “Looks like jail food,” one commenter declared. Another compared it to “Fyre Fest food,” while someone else called it “just a pathetic deconstructed breakfast sandwich.” Some noted that it’s basically an unbuilt steak and egg biscuit, minus the cheese, likely at a higher price. “You should know by this point that ‘big’ or ‘large’ is fast food industry jargon for ‘small’ or ‘medium,'” one commenter observed.

Beyond the meal itself, many frustrated customers believe that this is part of a bigger issue with the chain’s declining quality. "You guys just keep going there so they keep making it sh–tier," one person wrote. Another added, "At this point it’s buy garbage, get garbage." Others chimed in to say they’d already stopped eating there years ago, with one commenter admitting, "That’s why I don’t eat there anymore even before the boycott."

The declining size of increasingly pricy fast food meals, known as "shrinkflation," isn't only an issue at McDonald's. In fact, there's an entire subreddit dedicated to the problem. All in all, we may be better off cooking up breakfast at home—or at least lowering our expectations.
