Melania Trump's Alleged Affair
Back in 2017, after Trump became president for the first time, Melania's name was in headlines not as First Lady, but as adulteress. Rumors that she was cheating on her husband with Hank Siemers, VP of security at Tiffany & Co., which is the store next to Trump Tower, were hard to beat.
So why are the rumors back? Well, Netflix's The Hunting Wives, a new series about a former city socialite trying to fit in with the rich housewives of East Texas, has one character that's eerily reminiscent of Mrs. Trump. Margo Banks is a scheming socialist whose husband decides to to run for Texas governor. And according to Malin Akerman, the actress who plays Margo, this is no coincidence.
Speaking to People, Akerman recalled higher ups on set saying that Margo is like Melania in that she "came into a marriage to this rich man as one woman," then found new expectations placed on her once her husband became a political hopefull.
"At first you think she's just this trophy wife," she continued, "and she's living the life. But then, there are some scenes that get pretty complex where we see who is boss."
Social Media Reactions
Whatever the reason that Melania's affair is back in headlines, users online have something to say about it. "So Christian, totally family values oriented," one person said sarcastically.
"This is not a real marriage," said another. "It’s a marriage of convenience. She does what she wants and he does what he wants. After he is out of the presidency, she will walk into the sunset with her man."
"Heard this 8 years ago, wifely known in D.C. circles then," a third chimed in. "Glad it's finally out to the world!"
"She is living her life in New York," a fourth said. "She has a prenuptial agreement with him and she will be living her best life without him."
