Melania Trump Slammed As A ‘Hypocrite’ On Social Media After Writing Open Letter To Putin: ‘So Performative’

Joining her husband in his efforts to bring an end to Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine, Melania Trump has penned an open to Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, urging him to end the war for the sake of the thousands of children in danger. Last week, two White House officials reported that Donald Trump hand delivered an open letter from his wife to Putin during their summit talks in Alaska. Melania did not join her husband on the trip, but after the original letter was handed to Putin, Melania shared her words on the @FLOTUS Instagram page.
“Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart, whether born randomly into a nation’s rustic countryside or a magnificent city-center. They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger,” the letter begins.
She goes on to describe how it is their duty as parents and as leaders to ensure a safe world for children to live in. “A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you agree, is that each generation’s descendants begin their lives with a purity — an innocence which stands above geography, government, and ideology,” she wrote.
