Michelle Obama Complains About Living In The White House

Michelle was featured on The Diary of a CEO podcast when she shared a little known fact about being the First Family: it can get pretty costly. "It's expensive to live in the White House," she explained. "Many people don't know, I mean, much is not covered. You're paying for every food—every bit of food that you eat."

"You know, you're not paying for housing and the staff in it, but everything, even travel, if you're not traveling with the president if your kids are coming on a Bright Star, which is the First Lady's plane, we had to pay for their travel to be on the plane," she continued. "It is an expensive proposition and you're running for two years and not earning an income."

Social Media Reactions

The clip has been posted on YouTube, with new and old reactions from American citizens thinking complaining about living in the White House is taking it a bit too far. "Pathetic," one person wrote. "Free chef, free utilities, and she only has to pay for groceries."

"You're now complaining about how expensive to live in the White House, really?" another asked. "Come on!"

"Why is Michelle Obama always complaining and playing the victim?" a third user questioned. "She isn't getting sympathy and respect from most Americans."

"She is really coming out as a very unhappy person," one comment reads.

"Every time I see an interview with her she's complaining about something new," a final user said. "I'm over her!"
