Netflix Announces 'Fifth And Final' Season For Hit Show You

In a statement released by the show's official Twitter account, Netflix wrote, "Goodbye... YOU. Joe Goldberg will return for the fifth and final season of YOU in 2024," followed by a teaser clip.

Fan reactions are surprisingly mixed. Some are sad to say goodbye to their favorite show, but others saw this as a long time coming. 

In reply to the announcement on Twitter, one fan wrote, "We knew it was only a matter of time before the show would finish and there’s only so much left you could do," they said. "But, finishing it where it all started is a great thing."

Someone else replied, "So happy we get another season of You... but not ready for it to be the final season." They wrote that they have "mixed emotions" but they believe that Penn Badgley will "deliver some more masterclass acting performances as Joe in season five."

One Twitter user quoted the news and wrote, "Another season?! Y’all could have ended it with this season lol." They added, "It was perfectly executed." Another questioned, "A fifth season?! The 4th should have been the last one. What more can they possibly do?" Someone else said that the show "has become yet another victim of Netflix over-milking a great show into repetitive and boring mediocrity. They should learn to gracefully end a show at its peak." Yikes! 

Still, many are excited to watch more and find out if it's Joe this time who gets slain, or gets caught once and for all. We still have to wait until 2024 to officially find out, but we'll be eagerly waiting for its return.
