Nicholas Cage just debuted a fiery new hair color, making some fans do a double take! The National Treasure alum, 58, stepped out last week with newly-dyed locks, and caused quite the stir on Twitter, where some users dubbed him “unrecognizable” as others praised his “bold,” “stylish” and “eccentric” choice of hue. (We have to admit, he somehow pulls it off!)

The Moonstruck actor was spotted in a Las Vegas grocery store with his red tresses, and snapped pics with fans, showing off other elements of his outfit. Cage, who recently played himself in the 2022 film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, rocked dark sunglasses, a polka-dotted navy suit with black lining, and a crisp white button-up shirt underneath while out and about in Sin City.

While this may be the Oscar winner’s most notable recent hair transformation, it actually isn’t the first time he has dyed his locks. Cage went full-on gray in the 2021 flick Pig, added sun-kissed highlights for his role in 1983’s Valley Girl, and also swapped his typically straight texture for waves in 1997’s Con Air.

While many of us may be used to his typical dark brown look, one fan deemed this red one a “look to stay.” Thoughts? We rounded up funny and sweet tweets regarding Cage’s new ‘do:

Is vibrant red the ‘it’ color for fall 2022? We’ll have to see, but Cage’s style icon status might make it more popular in the months to come…
