Nicole Kidman's Eldest Children Reportedly Had A 'Real Issue' With Keith Urban
Many pop culture aficionados or fans of the Australian actress likely know that before she married country star Keith Urban, she was in a long relationship with the Top Gun actor from 1990 to 2001. During their 11-year marriage, they adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, who are now 32 and 30 years old.
After she and Tom split and she entered a relationship and married the country musician in 2006, Nicole started being photographed less and less with her two eldest children. Then, she and Keith had two children of their own, their teenage daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
Now that the two Australians have officially filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage, inside sources are coming forward to reveal that her two children from her first marriage were not his biggest fans, which was one of the reasons why they weren't often seen together as a blended family.
"They both had a real issue with Keith," a source told the National Enquirer.
"Bella and Connor never understood what Nicole saw in Keith," they continued. "It was tough to watch her go from their dad — this handsome superstar who handed her the world on a platter — to this random country singer. It didn't help that Keith landed in rehab a few months after they got married and put Nicole through hell."
Bella And Connor Cruise Are Reportedly Experiencing A 'Better' Relationship With Nicole
The inside source did not hold back when it came to representing how Bella and Connor felt about their mother's now ex-husband, noting that his reported visit to rehab and their "charade" of a marriage didn't help improve their relationship.
However, now that the "Somebody Like You" singer is slowly exiting her life, the AMC sponsor's eldest children are allegedly making their way back in.
"Nicole was in London all summer, and she spent a ton of time with Bella while she was there," the source told the above publication. "Bella has had a front-row seat to this split, and she encouraged Nicole to take a hard stance and take the legal steps to separate. Nicole was keeping the marriage on life support, and it was sucking the soul out of her."
Although it sounds like the family has a whole lot of healing to do, and the famous couple will likely have to figure out some way to peacefully co-parent their daughters, there is a bit of an upside, as the inside source notes it's like a fresh start for Nicole, Bella, and Connor.
"They both had a real issue with Keith. With him gone, things are bound to get even better between them and Nicole," the insider added. "This split has thrown her for a huge loop, but if it leads to a better relationship with her kids, no doubt that will be a big silver lining for her."
