Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis seemed to have a picture perfect Hollywood relationship, so when news broke last week that the pair had broken off their love affair, fans were devastated. While things are often enhanced in the tabloids for drama, the real reason for their split was pretty relatable.

Unlike other splits with celeb couples who share children, a source claims that “there really is no drama,” between the former couple and “they’re handling this like adults.” Although they’ve been engaged for nearly 7 years, the source went on to admit that with their busy schedules along with normal issues, “they were never going to get married.”
The breakup, which was just announced, apparently took place at the beginning of this year and has been largely amicable. While the split has left fans disappointed, the couple's children are the priority, and according to the source, both Olivia and Jason plan to co-parent Daisy and Otis to the best of their abilities.
Sudeikis and Wilde met at an SNL finale party at the end of 2011 and began their romance shortly after, with Sudeikis popping the question around the same time the following year. They worked together on Wilde’s directorial debut, Booksmart, in 2019 and Wilde gushed to PEOPLE that, “It’s really amazing to see him do his thing.”
Breakups are never easy, but it seems like Jason and Olivia are taking things in stride, both working on big projects this year, Ted Lasso and Don’t Worry Darling, respectively. Despite the dissolution of their relationship, we’re sure they’ll continue to do a great job co-parenting their children. It’s not often we see an amicable split in Hollywood!
