Queen Camilla Was Reportedly Angry Over Meghan Markle's 'Summer Holiday' Social Media Post
The As Ever founder and the Spare author made the top-secret trip to Highgrove House on Friday, July 10th with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit was reportedly so secret that even Prince William and Kate Middleton were kept in the dark about it – something reports claim the Prince of Wales was not happy about.
It was the first time in four years that King Charles had seen his grandchildren, but no pictures from the visit made it to social media. However, Meghan later shared pictures of the children at Althorp House, the late Princess Diana's ancestral home and final resting place, in a carousel captioned, "Summer Holiday." One picture showed Archie in the gardens, while another showed Prince Harry walking hand-in-hand with Archie while carrying flowers, with Lilibet walking behind them with her own flowers, presumably to place on her grandmother's grave.
Even though the photos had nothing to do with the Highgrove House visit itself, Camilla was reportedly still livid about them! "Camilla's words appear to have fallen on deaf ears," a palace insider reportedly told New Idea. "She feels that she was clear about no social media posts, and if Meghan thinks Althorp was an exception, she was very wrong."
King Charles Is Reportedly Unhappy About The Social Media Post Too, And Wanted To 'Test' Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's 'Loyalties'
It's not just Camilla who is reportedly unhappy, as King Charles is also said to feel the same way as his wife, reportedly wondering whether the social media post means the couple can't be trusted going forward...
It was previously reported that Camilla thinks it's a "grave mistake" to let the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back into the family, with this latest move seemingly strengthening her argument.
Another insider previously told the outlet: "The family doubts that Meghan will be able to stick to this agreement, but Harry and Meghan are well aware this is a 'test of their loyalties,' and if they wish to continue being royals, it has to be in the King's interests."
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Christmas Invitation Could Be In Jeopardy
The first source went on to say that despite his reservations, Charles still invited his youngest son and his family to Highgrove House. However, because Meghan later shared photos on social media, the insider claimed it has now put any potential Christmas invitation in jeopardy, as the couple have allegedly proven they can't be trusted!
"Charles is extremely disappointed. He was told by everyone, including William, that Harry and Meghan wouldn't be able to keep their traps shut, but he still opened up the doors for this reunion," they noted.
