Back in August, Prince Andrew was hit with a sexual abuse lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre, and while London Metro said they would further investigate these claims, it was just announced earlier this week that the UK police will cease to look into the Prince and have completed their review. Prince Andrew has maintained his innocence after Giuffre claimed that the 61-year-old assaulted her three times within the years 1999-2002 while she was still underage, and in a statement released on October 11, London authorities have shared they will not move forward with the investigation.

After looking through the evidence presented, London Metro wrote in a statement on Monday via Reuters and CNN, "As a matter of procedure MPS [Metropolitan Police Service] officers reviewed a document released in August 2021 as part of a U.S. civil action. This review has concluded and we are taking no further action. The Metropolitan Police Service continues to liaise with other law enforcement agencies who lead the investigation into matters related to Jeffrey Epstein."

Prince Andrew, for his part, has consistently denied having ever met Giuffre, telling BBC in an interview back in 2019, "I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever. It just never happened." Hower, Giuffre has been intentional with her claims of sexual assault, filing the lawsuit on August 9, just before the deadline in New York.

At the time, she told PEOPLE, "I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me. The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions. I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but to reclaim one's life by speaking out and demanding justice."

However, despite London Metro no longer looking into the claims, it was revealed earlier this week that Prince William allegedly finds Prince Andrew to be a "threat to the family," according to a source close to him. The source also added that while Prince Andrew reportedly hopes to return to his royal duties, "There is no way in the world he’s ever coming back. The family will never let it happen." Giuffre has yet to comment on the state of her lawsuit.
