Looks like some of the royals are trying their best to mend the ongoing rift within the family, as Prince Charles is reportedly ready to “start healing” with his youngest son.
According to royal insider Katie Nicholl, the first signs of the olive branch began during their reunion at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last month, when Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, 40 joined Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for a get-together at Clarence House. Oh to have been a fly on that wall!
"I do know that Charles absolutely wants to start healing that fractured relationship with Harry," Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight, before going on to say that them getting together for the first time in two years was "very much the beginning" of their reconnection, which understandably then "paved the way for some more conciliatory talks."
And if we are to believe Nicholl, who penned the 2010 book, William & Harry, Prince Charles may be more than willing to let bygones be bygones, as he is reportedly ready to forgive and forget for the sake of his grandchildren.
According to Nicholl, the Prince of Wales is "very, very keen to have a close relationship with Meghan and Harry’s children," in reference to three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet, the latter of whom he met for the first time last month. Wow!
"He loves his son but he wants to forgive his son for everything," Nicholl continued. "He wants to repair that relationship and move on. A big part of that is him wanting to be a grandfather and see those grandchildren. It may mean a few more transatlantic trips, but he wants to enjoy this experience."
