A short clip of Kate showing the cameras her engagement ring recently resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter, with one X user asking: "Does anyone have a longer version of this video? I believe William had to help Catherine bc her hand was shaking."
"Yeah, I saw in the news 13 years ago, she was trembling like a leaf," replied one fan. "Catherine was shaking so bad they could not get a good photo of the ring so William held her hand," wrote another on X, as someone else commented: "The poor girl (she was so young back then.)"

In their engagement announcement on November 16th, 2010, Prince William revealed how he popped the question while they were on vacation in Kenya, saying: "We had a little private time away together with some friends and I just decided that it was the right time really. We'd been talking about marriage for a while, so it wasn't a massively big surprise, but I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya and proposed."
Kate then said, "It was very romantic," before going on to say that she didn't actually expect to leave Kenya with a fiancé, adding: "We were out there with friends and things, so I really didn't expect it at all." She added that it was a "total shock."
