Prince William's Alleged Temper Is Making Headlines Again
Prince William is reportedly no stranger to throwing tantrums when he doesn't get his way. And one royal author has even claimed the tantrums are so severe that his father, King Charles, is allegedly afraid of his own son!
Royal author Christopher Andersen told Page Six that Prince William is not afraid to raise his voice when speaking with his father, and has been known to have what have been described as "great bellowing tantrums." Yikes!
However, Andersen noted that despite the tantrums, Prince William never behaves that way around his wife or their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. He also reportedly does not shout at royal staff, which could be a trait inherited from his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Andersen claimed Prince William is "kind and considerate to a fault" with both staff members and the public, with his tantrums only occurring with certain people.
King Charles Is 'Terrified' Of His Eldest Son
"When he gets frustrated, he does resort to shouting [at Charles]," Andersen quoted a former royal staff member as saying in his book Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen.
"William has a huge, booming voice," the former staffer, who reportedly worked at Highgrove, continued, adding: "Much louder than his father's, so it's not something you soon forget."
Andersen went on to claim that the King is "terrified" of his eldest son and heir to the throne, although he suggested that the monarch is capable of holding his own during their arguments too.
"[He] has a Vesuvius temper," the author said, in reference to King Charles, which may very well explain where William inherited his temper from.
The monarch's temper has occasionally made headlines over the years, particularly during viral moments involving leaking pens and other royal mishaps. Andersen previously alleged in his 2022 biography, The King: The Life of Charles III, that he once tore a sink off the wall after losing a cufflink down the drain, which further suggests that fiery tempers do run in the family!
