Prince William is having a hard time staying quiet after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s bombshell interview. Besides their official statement, Buckingham Palace has tried to steer clear of mentions of the Oprah Winfrey interview, but that has been challenging in and of itself, especially for William.
When prompted by reporters, the Duke of Cambridge responded, “We’re very much not a racist family.” However, according to a source, he really wants to say more.

The insider told Us Weekly, "William is struggling to hold back. He wants to get his side out there."
Specifically, he wants to address Markle's comments on his wife, Kate Middleton. He "firstly to protect [his wife] Kate [Middleton]," the source explained. ICYMI, in the interview, Markle said that Middleton made her cry in the days leading up to the wedding despite the rumors that said the opposite.
The source says that William also wants to "clear the racial allegations."

However, it sounds like Queen Elizabeth has put a stop to any more in-depth, public responses to the interview. "The queen is insisting that the royals handle the matter privately," the source explains.
Apparently, the Queen "thinks that retaliating will only add fuel to the fire and make the situation worse."

Though William may be anxious about keeping quite, Middleton has helped him through the challenging time. "They lean on each other for support during difficult times and will talk through their problems," an insider explained.
"She’s been her husband’s pillar of strength throughout this whole ordeal," the source added.
