Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could lose access to their royal residences following ex-Prince Andrew‘s arrest, as King Charles “wishes to distance himself” from scandal and cut the monarchy down.

The disgraced royal was arrested back in February over allegations of misconduct in public office, with his and Sarah Ferguson‘s daughters reportedly facing the consequences as other members of the royal family distance themselves from the scandal. Princess Beatrice And Princess Eugenie Could Lose Access To Royal Residences After Andrew's Arrest

According to reports, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could be forced to give up access to the royal residences they currently use if King Charles gets his way. The reported move is said to reflect both the fallout from their father's scandals and the King's broader plans, supported by Prince William, to cut the monarchy down.

As things currently stand, Princess Beatrice, 37, has an apartment at St James's Palace, while Princess Eugenie, 36, has access to a cottage within the Kensington Palace estate. However, reports suggest those arrangements may not continue indefinitely.

A palace aide reportedly told RadarOnline that the sisters' accommodation should be viewed as a privilege rather than a permanent entitlement. And their father knows a thing or two about entitlement

"Senior royal officials have made it increasingly clear that the accommodation arrangements currently enjoyed by Beatrice and Eugenie are not viewed as a permanent entitlement," the aide said.

"The sisters were informed that, as part of a wider reassessment of how royal properties are allocated and utilized, they should begin exploring other options for when they need a base in London," they added.

"There is a growing feeling within the household that palace residences need to be used in a way that better reflects the King's long-term plans for the institution," they continued, adding: "Those involved insist this is not about punishing either princess or making a statement about their personal conduct. The decision is being framed internally as an administrative and operational matter linked to broader changes taking place across the royal estate. However, nobody is pretending the implications are insignificant."

Palace Insider Claims The Move Reflects King Charles' Long-Term Vision

The aide went on to suggest that King Charles hopes the move will reinforce his (and Prince William's) long-term vision for the monarchy.

"For Beatrice and Eugenie, losing access to these arrangements would mark a symbolic shift in their status and underline the reality that they are no longer regarded as central figures within the working structure of the monarchy," they claimed.

"There is also an acceptance behind palace walls that these changes will inevitably fuel speculation about where the York family now fits into King Charles' vision for a slimmer and more streamlined royal family," they continued. "While officials may describe the move as practical housekeeping, it sends a powerful message about priorities and about who is expected to occupy royal properties in the years ahead."

The aide also claimed that King Charles already has alternative plans for the properties, with Beatrice's apartment potentially being converted into expanded office space to accommodate growing household operations, while Eugenie's cottage could reportedly be repurposed as accommodation for a senior member of staff because security restrictions would make commercial rental difficult.
