Reba McEntire has taken it upon herself to debunk false rumors about an alleged confrontation with Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl last month, which have been spreading online via a news story and a tweet.
The Voice coach, 68, stressed that these rumors are baseless and warned her fans against believing them, using Instagram as a platform to clear her name.

"Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this," the "Fancy" hitmaker wrote in a March 16th IG post for her 2.6 million followers. "Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry," McEntire continued, referencing Swift, 34.
The "I'm a Survivor" singer shared a screenshot of the viral post (originally uploaded to social media by a user titled, America Loves Liberty). It alleged that McEntire confronted Swift at the Super Bowl on February 11th after seeing the "Anti-Hero" songwriter "making a mockery" of her National Anthem performance.
The 2024 Super Bowl Sunday broadcast began with McEntire's powerful rendition, followed by the victorious emergence of the Kansas City Chiefs (the team of Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce) as the champions of Super Bowl LVIII.
The inaccurate viral post regarding McEntire and Swift reads: "Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event." The upload continues, falsely quoting McEntire: "'I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.'"
McEntire's loyal fanbase shared their thoughts in the comments section beneath her recent IG post. "Reba is a very classy nice woman. She would never say that," one wrote, shutting down the false post as another added, regarding McEntire and Swift: "Anyone who: 1- watched the game knows this isn’t true because they showed [Swift] during the performance and she was standing and respectfully holding her hand over her heart." The user added: "2. Reba wouldn’t be that unnecessarily confrontational and rude."
Someone else concurred, writing: "Anybody who has actually been a Reba fan for a minute now would KNOW Reba would never act like that. With gentle hands and the heart of a fighter..... She's a survivor." One other replied: "Glad you took the time to straighten this out. You’re a lovely person Reba."
