With so many “nepo babies” in Hollywood these days, it’s no surprise that some children bear a striking resemblance to their famous parents. But the award for most twinning goes to Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe.
In a December 21 Instagram post on Reese’s page, the mother-daughter duo matched—making it even harder to tell them apart. The actress wore a silver sequin dress layered with a fuzzy black jacket, her blonde hair flowing down, while the 26-year-old paired a black turtleneck with a silver sequin mini skirt and sheer tights.

Both smiled at the camera, and even their smiles highlighted just how alike they look. Fans flooded social media, gushing over the striking resemblance between the pair.
“How does your daughter look more like you than you do?” asked one fan. A second said, “Now that is what I call copy and paste.” A third commented, “The father’s genes didn’t even try.” A fourth quipped, “Woah, I had to double-take bc I didn’t know which one was you! So beautiful—both of you.” A fifth wrote, “Okay, am I the only one thinking that she needs to play you in your biopic?” A sixth noted, “You guys look so much alike that this feels like an elaborate prank.”
Other photos in the carousel included a beautifully arranged charcuterie board, their festive Christmas tree, a mirror selfie with her son Deacon Phillippe, a selfie with Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern, and another selfie with her youngest son, Tennessee, whom she shares with talent agent Jim Toth.

Ava Phillippe Gets Candid on Looking Like Her Parents
The mother of three has been married twice: first to actor Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2008, and then to talent agent Jim Toth from 2011 to 2023.
Ava and Deacon are carving out their own paths in the entertainment world. The young actress is building a career in modeling and exploring acting, while 22-year-old Deacon is emerging as a music producer and artist. Both are pursuing their passions alongside their education, with Ava having graduated from UC Berkeley and Deacon attending NYU, where he is involved in music production.
In a 2024 interview with TODAY, Ava said, “It’s funny; I’m like, it would be a lot weirder if I didn’t look like my parents. My brother and I joke about it a lot because he gets similar comments. But I don’t hate it. It’s a great comparison.”
She continued, “My mom’s from the South, and a big Southern saying is ‘pretty is pretty does. Which I take to mean, you are only as beautiful as you are on the inside. How you treat people, how you treat yourself, how you move through the world is equally, if not more important, than how you appear on the outside or on the surface.”
