“Took a trip down memory lane with @instylemagazine to celebrate their 25th anniversary,” the Big Little Lies actress captioned her post, where she can be seen wearing a denim-on-denim ensemble. Witherspoon put her toned legs on full display in the denim skirt, which is an unexpected choice from the Draper James founder.
Witherspoon also revisited some of her memorable InStyle covers and interviews with the magazine, shedding light on how much her fashion choices and outlook on life have changed over the years. “I came up in a time when Hollywood was about one body type, one beauty standard [blonde hair and blue eyes]. Still, I was confident that the substance of what I had to say was more important than any external validation,” she told the magazine. “It’s comforting to know that our culture has adjusted and that my daughter and my grandchildren won’t have to grow up with some oppressive idea of what is beautiful or try to fit into some sort of mold that’s actually the anomaly, not the norm.”
