Rosie O’Donnell already wowed the world with her weight loss transformation over the last few years, but now she’s dropped another transformation online.
The comedian recently revealed through a series of Instagram posts and her popular Substack blog that after losing around 50 pounds, she decided to go through with getting a facelift. Despite being against the idea of getting one at first, she opened up about how she began feeling uncomfortable with the skin around her face. Rosie O'Donnell Reveals She Got A Facelift On Instagram
The former talk show host has been making a lot of headlines lately, with lots of people talking about her move from America to Ireland, as well as her impressive weight loss transformation.
Since making her move, Rosie's been extra active on social media and her Substack blog, writing about politics, her online feud against Donald Trump, as well as her journey to improve her health. After struggling with her weight for decades, she found that moving to Ireland, where she was walking a lot more, and taking the GLP-1 weight loss medication Mounjaro, helped her tremendously in dropping 50 pounds.
However, like most who deal with drastic weight loss, she was left with loose skin around parts of her body, including her face, which eventually led her to get a facelift.
"I used to feel very strongly about facelifts, not casually—morally," she wrote. "I had assigned myself as head of all women who would never - ever. I thought it was a betrayal. Of feminism. Of aging. Of our team of women worldwide. And then I lost 50 pounds."
"It wasn't wrinkles - it was gravity," she continued. "I'd look in the mirror and think, this isn't aging, this is… melting with intention. I tried to be evolved about it. and say things like, 'This is natural. This is earned.' There's a point where acceptance starts to feel like lying."
Social Media Users React To Rosie's Facelift
After she shared her initial post about getting her facelift and the reasons that led her to get one, the 64-year-old went viral, as not only were people surprised by it, but many were also taken aback by her openness. There are a lot of celebrities who try to keep procedures like a facelift hidden, making them especially vulnerable and refreshed.
Since initially sharing the news last week, media outlets and other social media users have shared Rosie's story and photos of her results across various platforms. Many fans of hers were very happy and supportive, while others felt the outcome didn't make her look like herself anymore.
"This has to be the most tasteful facelift I've ever seen," wrote a fan on Instagram. "She took off maybe 10 years, not 40. She still looks like Rosie. Good for her!"
"The difference is like day and…later that day," joked a user.
"She should get a refund," suggested one user.
"She looks good," added another. "The lift is very subtle, still very natural-looking. I ain't mad at her."
