Do You Have 'Saggy, Wrinkled, And Thinning Lips' Over 50? A Beauty Expert Shares An Easy 'Better Than Filler' Natural Fix

As we age, our lips naturally lose volume, elasticity, and definition, leading to a thinner, wrinkled, or sagging appearance. While fillers are a popular solution, they’re not the only way to restore a youthful look. Fortunately, there are natural hacks—like facial exercises—that can help plump and firm the lips without injections. These techniques work by strengthening the muscles around the mouth, improving circulation, and boosting collagen production, offering a non-invasive, filler-free way to achieve fuller, smoother lips over 50.

Sadie Nardini, a beauty expert who specializes in healing skin naturally, recently shared a simple and easy technique that can give “sagging, wrinkled, and thinning” lips back some plumpness and volume, calling it a “natural fix” that’s “better than filler.” Read on to get her tips!

Face HIIT Workout for Plump Lips

You’ve likely heard of face yoga, but some of these facial exercises can specifically target your lips, not just the fine lines on your face.

“You’re working orbicularis oris, the muscle around the mouth,” she notes. “First, pull your lips gently around your teeth and squeeze into the teeth for 20 seconds. Then, press lips together and line block for 10.” She suggests repeating this for eight rounds.

This exercise targets the orbicularis oris, the muscle that surrounds the mouth, which plays a crucial role in lip shape and firmness. By gently pulling the lips around the teeth and holding the position, followed by pressing the lips together, you engage and strengthen the muscle, improving its tone and elasticity.

Over time, this can help prevent sagging, reduce wrinkles, and add subtle fullness to thinning lips. Additionally, the repetitive movements boost circulation, promoting collagen production and keeping the lips looking smoother and more youthful.

The Bottom Line

While facial exercises can help tone the muscles around the lips, improve circulation, and enhance firmness, they are not a permanent fix for sagging, wrinkles, or thinning lips. Just like any workout, consistency is key—regular practice is needed to maintain results over time. Skipping sessions can lead to loss of muscle tone, so incorporating these exercises into your daily routine is essential for long-term benefits. While they won’t completely replace the effects of fillers, they offer a natural way to support lip volume and smoothness with dedication and patience.
