Sam Asghari recently opened up to “Good Morning America” about his “long overdue” wedding to Britney Spears—and it is the sweetest thing!
On June 9, the lovebirds finally tied the knot with an intimate ceremony in Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, California. “We imagined this thing being a fairy tale and it was,” Asghari gushed. “And we only had, like, 50-70 people. We wanted to just celebrate, and that’s what we did.” Despite the small gathering, the newlyweds were surrounded by famous friends like Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez, and Donatella Versace.

The model went on to say that they waited a long time for the event. “It’s been a minute. It was way overdue for us,” he said. The two first got together in 2016, but the long wait for the wedding was the result of Spears’ strict conservatorship, which didn’t allow for marriage. After 13 long years, though, the conservatorship was finally lifted last November, and she’s been thriving ever since.

So, how does the up-and-coming actor feel to be married to Britney Spears? “The husband thing hasn’t hit me yet,” he admitted, calling the situation “surreal.”
As far as the wellbeing of Spears goes, Asghari says she’s “amazing” and “doing great.” We love to hear it and are so glad to see the two of them flourishing in a happy, healthy relationship!
