On Wednesday, May 21st, the "Lose You To Love Me" singer posted a 'throwback' photo of her and her fiancé behind the scenes of their Interview magazine cover story photoshoot. While they wore several chic outfits for their shoot, for their big cover photo, they posed in matching white button-up shirts and black ties.
The couple decided to snap a quick mirror selfie during their shooting day, which the singer shared to her story for her followers. In the selfie, the trending couple are posing side by side in untucked white button-down shirts and black ties. Their coordinating looks were formal yet laid back, as Selena's sleeves were slightly rolled up, and both of their ties were hanging down. The Rare Beauty founder was extra glammed-up, wearing smokey eye makeup and a nude lipstick color. Her short bob haircut was styled with extra volume and a slight wave.
Adding an extra affectionate element to her Instagram story, the 32-year-old put Lauryn Hill's rendition of the famous love song, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," over their photo. The selfie was presumably taken at the beginning of the year, a little over a year after the music producer decided to pop the question in December 2024. During their interview for the cover story, the couple spoke about their debut collaborative album and relationship.
Selena And Benny Open Up About Their Relationship In An Emotional Interview
Around the time the couple's mirror selfie was taken, they sat down for an interview for their cover story at the beginning of this year. It was a busy time, as it was right before their album, I Said I Love You First, was released, which marked their first major collaboration as an engaged couple.
In their interview, they opened up more about the start of their relationship and how they got to know each other on a deeper level, which led to the award-winning songwriter gushing about his vocalist fiancée. When talking about the early stages of their relationship, Benny admitted that he got to a point in his life where he wanted to focus on finding the "right person" with whom he could spend the rest of his life.
"Now I worship the ground she walks on, and I feel like she's the same way to me," he said. "There's no ego between us."
Selena echoed similar sentiments during their interview, noting how meeting her man helped her feel less alone, as she was quite isolated following her long, messy, on-and-off-again relationship with Justin Bieber.
"I actually feel valued [and] I feel seen," she explained.
"I feel respected. And I think that's all I've ever really wanted. I've kind of been alone in the world. I was alone for five years before we got together, and I think that really helped me appreciate someone like Ben."
Since they took their mirror selfie and posed for their March magazine cover, Selena and Benny have continued speaking about how much they enjoy working together and bringing out the best in each other.
