Selena Gomez, 30, is taking over the Big Apple! The singer and actress was recently photographed filming the recently-announced third season of Only Murders in the Building around New York City. Gomez was spotted wearing an edgy all-black t-shirt dress and chunky shoes.

Selena Gomez Turns Heads In A Gothic All-Black Ensemble
On Jan. 18, the actress was spotted in a black t-shirt dress that had two slits on the side that went up to her knees. Underneath the dress, Gomez wore loose, black pants. And, she donned a pair of chunky black sneakers. It really was an all-black fit. As for her hair, she styled her chocolate brown tresses down the middle in loose waves. Her bangs look so chic!
“It’s cool because, personally in my life, since I started season 1 to doing season 2, I changed so much,” Gomez told Variety in December 2021 about her connection with Mabel’s character. “I know that it’s a small amount of time, but I think it kind of carried on into [her character] Mabel. If anything, there’s just more of a sophistication to her. Her style gets better. She’s like super cool. I cut my hair. So it’s a whole fresh start for Mabel.”

Following its premiere in August 2021, Only Murders in the Building has received numerous accolades. It even garnered nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for actors Steve Martin, 77, and Martin Short, 72. In July 2022, the series was renewed for a third season. And, iconic Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep, 73, is reportedly joining the cast for the next season!
The first season found Gomez’s character Mabel bonding with Charles (played by Martin) and Oliver (played by Short) after one of the tenants in their apartment building mysteriously dies. Together, the trio starts a podcast to try and solve the murder.
“First off, they’re brilliant. They’re legends, and they have lived so many different lives, and it’s like I’m a sponge and I’m just soaking all of that in. They were just like uncles,” Gomez gushed during a June 2021 interview with Vogue Australia about her costars. “They’re so quick and witty and established. I want to be where they are. I love when people challenge me, and they would tell me things I would never know. I think you’re going to see on screen how much we did love each other.”

Selena Gomez Shuts Down Body Shamers
After her recent appearance at the Golden Globes in a gorgeous, curve-hugging dress, a few internet trolls felt the need to criticize the 30-year-old’s body. Gomez actually seemed to address the haters and body shamers in an Instagram Live, which was later shared on TikTok, taken from inside a car with her little sister.
“I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,” the Rare Beauty founder said in the video. Gomez then turned to her sister and asked, “I mean, right?” to which Gracie replied, “Yeah,” which caused Gomez to add, “But we don’t care,” and burst into laughter. We love her even more for it!
