We can’t keep up with Selena Gomez and her on and off social media breaks. The 31-year-old Only Murders in the Building actress returned to Instagram just one day – yes, one day – after announcing that she would be temporarily leaving the social media platform to focus “on what really matters.”
On Tuesday, January 9th, the “Lose You To Love Me” singer – who looked incredible at the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 7th, may we add – took to her Instagram Story to share a video of herself and record producer boyfriend Benny Blanco playing with two young children. They were pictured engaging in PDA at the Golden Globes too, which made our hearts very happy! She captioned the video: “I’m off social for a while. I’m focusing on what really matters.”
Selena Gomez Returns To Social Media One Day After Announcing Break
However, on Wednesday, January 10th, the Rare Beauty mogul posted an Instagram Story of herself and chef Gordon Ramsay in promotion of a collaborative cooking video. "@gordongram stepped into my kitchen and showed me how to make an amazing Breakfast Burger," she wrote, alongside the video.
As the video was on her Instagram Story and not on her grid, her fans were unable to make comments. However, that didn't stop them from taking to other social media platforms to mock her for going back on her word.
Fans Call Selena Gomez 'An Attention Seeker'
"So, she went to sleep?" joked one fan on X, formerly Twitter, as another quipped, "Quick, quick. Let's all act surprised," followed by a shocked face emoji. "Notice how nobody is surprised," concurred another fan, as another chimed in: "She didn't even make it to 24 hours I'm crying." "Technically it's not a lie, a break could be 5 minutes," wrote another fan, seemingly in her defense.
"She's an attention seeker," slammed one fan, as another agreed, writing: "See I called it! All for attention." "She really is a pathological liar," said another X user, as another speculated that she "will announce her next break in an hour." "She does have a song called bad liar," noted another fan, before asking: "Are we surprised?"
