Shania Twain has sparked concern among her fans, after some of them noticed that she was looking a lot thinner than usual in recent Instagram posts. Fans feared that the 57-year-old singer, who has been touring since May, was “unwell” due to what they deemed was a huge weight loss, and also due to the fact that she has been wearing wigs while performing on stage.

They have voiced their concerns on a number of different Instagram posts over the past month or so, with many of the concerned comments featuring on a July 14th Instagram post that the “Any Man of Mine” singer shared with her 2.2M Instagram followers. The post showed off some of her music videos from her Come On Over album, including “Man, I Feel Like A Woman” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much” to promote the Come On Over diamond edition, which was out on August 25th.

Shania Twain’s Fans Voice Their Concerns About Her Health

She captioned the post: “When I released Come On Over, I couldn’t imagine what it would go on to become… not even in my wildest dreams!! It feels incredible to see this album still bringing people together 25 years later. Come On Over: Diamond Edition is available to pre-order now, coming August 25th.”

However, many fans used the comments section to voice their concerns about the “From This Moment On” singer, referencing her current tour looks and recent Instagram videos where is looking noticeably thinner. “I wonder if Shania is unwell. She’s losing weight and wearing wigs,” commented one fan, in reference to some of her recent tour ensembles, to which one replied, “Right… it doesn’t even look like her.” “She lost weight in less than a month,” noted another. “It was surgery or drugs. And she is acting so [expletive] weird too,” they continued, adding, “But you can go back and look at her timeline. She is chunky in like April, and a little less than a month later she is tail thin, and acts so [expletive] weird!”

Another said: “I agree! I was at her concert last night in Houston and noticed differences and that she seemed off! It wasn’t just me either! Most people we spoke to all said the same thing! We had great seats and a Jumbotron screen near and could notice more up close. Health wise she’s unhealthy skinny. If she’s sick that explains a lot. I just pray she is ok and gets better.”

Not all fans felt the same way though. “It’s called being 58 and touring like a 20 something. She’s doing amazing. Leave her be,” wrote one fan in her defense, as another added, “She’s fine.” “She’s literally selling the most tour tickets out of any artist in the world who isn’t doing massive stadium tours. She’s happy. She looks amazing. Worry about YOU,” commented another loyal fan. “I wonder if maybe all the dancing/performing she’s doing on her world tour could be contributing to her weight loss,” speculated another, adding, “And as for the wigs? A little something called ‘Having Fun.'” They finished off with an apt red heart emoji.

Shania Twain's History With Lyme Disease

Some of the "You're Still The One" hitmaker's fans also feared that she was unwell due to complications from Lyme disease, which she contracted 20 years ago. She previously told fans that she had contracted the tick-borne illness while horseback riding in 2003, which caused symptoms such as dizziness, loss of balance, and dysphonia, which caused her to fear that she may never sing again.

"My symptoms were quite scary because before I was diagnosed, I was on stage very dizzy. I was losing my balance. I was afraid I was gonna fall off the stage. I was having these very, very, very millisecond blackouts, but regularly, every minute or every 30 seconds," she confessed in the 2022 Netflix documentary, Shania Twain: Not Just a Girl.

The "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" singer also spoke about perhaps the scariest symptom of all, which was the effect it had on her voice. "My voice was never the same again. I thought I'd lost my voice forever," she confessed. The Netflix documentary wasn’t the only place she opened up about complications from Lyme disease, as she also told UK TV show Loose Women: "It was a good 6 or 7 years before a doctor was able to find out that I had sustained nerve damage to my vocal cords, directly caused by Lyme disease." She has had two "open throat" vocal cord surgeries, as well as vocal therapy, which helped her voice return.
