Starbucks just dropped a major bombshell about its new restaurant format for Covid-19: “We’re reducing the long lines,” chief operating officer Roz Brewer revealed. This is huge!

The coffee chain is also planning to open about 22,000 stores in the next ten years, including new types of smaller drive-thru and curbside pick-up locations.

Yep, it already feels like there's a Starbucks on every corner--but there's about to be a whole lot more of them. The Seattle-based company plans to reach about 55,000 stores by 2030 (they currently have 33,000 of them).

"Though we are growing off a large base, there is ample room to expand in regions where the Starbucks brand is less penetrated," Brewer said, according to CNN. She noted Starbucks' "particular focus on high volume, high margin, suburban drive-thrus."

These new restaurant layouts will help reduce congestion in the modern Covid era.
