For many of us, the holiday season truly kicks off in the days following Thanksgiving and Black Friday. With fun wintry festivities to look forward to as December approaches, Starbucks is bidding adieu to its classic fall beverage— the Pumpkin Spice Latte— and instead, highlighting its more seasonal, winter-appropriate drinks. Fan favorites like the Peppermint Mocha will be returning to your local store soon (along with other exciting and brand new holiday treats!)

Highlights From Starbucks’ 2022 Holiday Drink Menu

Starbucks is bringing back several classic winter beverages while replacing their fall-themed ones, and one timeless menu item that is returning is the Peppermint Mocha. This drink, which The Fast Food Post reports debuted in 2002 and is turning 20 this year features espresso, steamed milk, mocha sauce and peppermint syrup all blended together, and topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls. (Perfect for sipping on while watching the snow fall!)

Another familiar favorite coming back to the menu this month is the Caramel Brulée Latte, which also combines espresso and steamed milk but also adds caramel brulée sauce, and is finally topped with whipped cream and caramel brulée topping. Another similar and beloved drink you’ll see again at your local Starbucks is the Chestnut Praline Latte, complete with espresso, steamed milk and, as The Fast Food Post writes, “the flavors of caramelized chestnuts and spices topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.”

The Toasted White Chocolate Mocha will also help you count down the days till your favorite winter holiday with its tasty caramelized white chocolate mocha sauce that is mixed together with espresso and steamed milk, and then topped with whipped cream, sugary sparkles and white pearls. For vegans or lactose-free Starbucks lovers, the Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte is the perfect non-dairy holiday drink as it blends Starbucks Blonde Espresso with sugar cookie syrup over ice, mixed with almond milk, and then completed with festive red and green sprinkles. The last holiday beverage to grace the Starbucks menu is the Irish Cream Cold Brew, which brings together a bold and smooth cold brew with Starbucks Irish Cream syrup, and then topped with vanilla sweet cream foam and dusted cocoa powder.

Starbucks’ Brand New Holiday Dessert

What better way to celebrate winter’s arrival than with not only a Starbucks beverage, but a pastry as well? The Seattle-based coffee chain is also bringing the new Chocolate Pistachio Swirl treat to their menu, which is made with a creamy chocolate filling with cinnamon and coffee mixed into buttery brioche-inspired dough with mint chocolate chips and also topped with chopped pistachios. Fans on Twitter continue to rave about this new treat, with one writing that it is “10/10 so yummy,” another joking that it “cured” them, and someone else deeming it to be “excellent.”

Starbucks’ Reindeer Cake Pop is another great item that is returning to menus, which tastefully combines vanilla cake with chocolate icing and is topped off with a cute festive red nose and antlers to look like a reindeer. The Sugar Plum Cheese Danish is also coming back, bringing together tastes of cream cheese filling in a fluffy Danish and then topped with a spiced sugar plum spread. Other timeless favorites you’ll spot at your local Starbucks include the Cranberry Bliss Bar (a blondie cake with tart dried cranberries baked with a layer of cream-cheese icing, orange zest, and dried cranberries), and the adorable Snowman Cookie (buttery shortbread snowman donning white chocolatey icing). Happy holidays!
