Finding dresses to wear to all those summer weddings is a daunting task–trust me, I know. I’ve been on the weddings circuit for almost a decade now and while things are starting to slow down, that doesn’t mean I’ve gotten any better at finding flattering dresses that won’t break the bank.
That’s why I was thrilled to discover Revolve’s latest venture superdown this spring.
Launched in March with the aim at reaching more Gen-Z costumers, the Insta-worthy brand features dresses, jumpsuits, co-ords and more for (mostly) under $100.
And while you wouldn’t think that an e-tailer gunning for the younger consumer (and selling snakeskin bike shorts) would also make occasion clothes for a woman in her 30s–that didn’t stop me from immediately finding a Carmela Deep V Neck jumpsuit that I could wear for a Key West wedding I had in May.
The jumpsuit featured a $82 price tag and a much younger model, so I was wary about how it would look, but when the item arrived in the mail I could not have been more pleased. The quality was excellent–the jumpsuit was soft and lined so that it *didn’t* show every imperfection (my biggest fear). I snagged one in black for my birthday dinner, too–it’s that good. I got so many compliments at the wedding–I guess it made me “the cool mom” I’ve always been trying to be.
If you’re tapped out on using Rent The Runway, superdown is the perfect choice for finding affordable, trendy alternatives. In addition to their namesake brand, they also carry third-party brands like J.O.A., BB Dakota, Steve Madden and Dolce Vita. Get shopping!
