Taco Bell is an iconic fast food restaurant that has offered consumers a special alternative to the usual burgers and fries for decades. However, some loyal customers are beginning to lose hope in the chain, especially since one of their most basic menu items seems to have fallen victim to “shrinkflation.”

A Reddit user and Taco Bell customers’ post went viral after they shared a picture of their especially “tiny” Cheesy Roll Up, a simple quesadilla-adjacent item that’s been a staple on their menu for a long time. The picture of the teeny roll-up sparked outrage amongst customers, who shared their latest experiences with the famous chain, and expressed that they’re just about ready to stop going altogether. Read more about the viral tiny roll-up below.

A Reddit User's Post Goes Viral After Sharing A Photo Of Their Small Cheesy Roll Up

One of today's most popular Reddit threads explores the notion of shrinkflation, where, in these times, the quality and size of products and food items seem to be going down, as the price stays the same or goes up. Many fast food restaurants have been accused of shrinkflation, as everything from burgers to desserts seems to be going down in size, while the prices only get larger. Basic menu items that have been staples are especially vulnerable to shrinkflation, as newer, flashier menu items seem to start out larger.

One of Taco Bell's most well-known basic staples is its Cheesy Roll-Up, which is a super straightforward menu snack consisting of a "warm flour tortilla with a blend of mozzarella, pepperjack, and cheddar cheeses melted and rolled up inside," according to their website. Young kids and those with simple palates have come to rely on the cheesy food, which makes for a great snack or part of a meal.

However, one Reddit user's cheesy roll-up recently caused a stir, as he shared the one he got from a Taco Bell recently and compared it to an older photo of a much larger one.

Taco Bell Customers Complain About Their Size And Food Quality In The Comments Section

Once the before and after photos of the cheesey roll up went viral on Reddit, other Taco Bell customers began sharing their own stories on how they've noticed that their food items have dipped in quality and size, and many believe you're not getting as good a value as you used to.

Taco Bell was once a notorious place for being extra cheap, while still serving flavorful and yummy Mexican-inspired foods. However, now that they're being accused of shrinkflation, customers are beginning to think it's not worth a trip anymore.

"Yeah, Taco Bell sucks now," commented a Reddit user, as another wrote that "they're a terrible value these days."

"That's just pathetic," wrote a user under a picture of the tiny roll up.

"Seriously, the quality was already at the lowest bar; they didn't need to find the basement," joked another.

One customer got really heated about the way fast food chains are continuing to profit off their shoppers while raising prices.

"It sounds petty, but it's infuriating to see post after post of people complaining about the obscene lack of quality, obscene price gouging, and obscenely tiny portions at fast food places as they continue to support them," they wrote.

"STOP GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY!"

Although Taco Bell has yet to acknowledge some of the changes and adjustments being made to both their menu and their food, it is very discouraging for customers to see that even the simplest item they offer, just a tortilla and cheese, has seemingly succumbed to the shrinkflation crisis.
