It’s no secret that Taylor Swift and Kanye West have a long and complicated history – but now their feud appears to be escalating following reports that Swift has taken legal action against West after he launched a sexually explicit and defamatory rant about her on social media.
The Yeezy designer, 47, went on an explicit rant about the “Lavender Haze” singer, 35, on social media, making unfounded allegations that she had a threesome with Justin Bieber, 31, and Harry Styles, also 31. West’s claim has understandably sparked significant backlash, thus triggering Swift’s legal response. Keep reading for more info…
Taylor Swift Files Cease And Desist Following Kanye West's Defamatory Social Media Rant
According to reports, the "Anti-Hero" singer was extremely "upset" by the father-of-four's graphic and inflammatory allegations, which we won't go into further detail on. A cease and desist letter was reportedly sent, demanding that West refrain from making further defamatory statements. If he continues to do so, it could reportedly lead to further legal action such as a defamation lawsuit.
An insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker was "left with no other option" than to take the legal action against the "Praise God" rapper, adding: "This time, he has gone too far. His claims are not just false they are defamatory."
"This isn't just [West] gossiping. This is [West] sexually harassing a woman, defaming her, and intending to cause harm to her and to her career," the insider added.

Fans Support Taylor Swift
As expected, the Swifties quickly took to social media to show their support for the "Blank Space" singer – and to voice their frustration that legal action hadn't been taken sooner considering all that has gone on between them over the years.
"At this point, after everything Kanye West has done to her since 2009, including the nasty things he has recently said on here, I think Taylor Swift needs to put a restraining order on him right after suing," one fan wrote on X, in reference to the infamous moment in 2009 where West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video' for "You Belong with Me" at the MTV Video Music Awards, declaring that he thought Beyoncé deserved the award instead.
"Yes no more Mrs. nice girl kick his [expletive] to the curb," wrote a second. "He's such a disgrace to this earth," slammed a third, as a fourth said: "This man should be in jail and be banned from this app, do something @elonmusk." "I'm not a Swift fan but I agree, he needs to be held accountable. Ye is being so immature," wrote another X user.
"I'll admit this; I'm not a fan of Taylor Swift's music, but I have no problem with her as a person. Saying that, I will always take her side when it comes to Kanye West's obsession of talking badly about her. Kanye is unhinged," echoed another X user.

Kanye West And Taylor Swift's Long-Running Feud
The two artists first clashed at the aforementioned MTV Video Music Awards back in 2009. Although they appeared to reconcile in the years that followed, things turned sour again in 2016 when West released his song "Famous," in which he claimed he "made that [expletive] famous," referring to Swift.
Things only got worse after the "Bad Blood" singer stated she had not approved the lyric. West and Kim Kardashian, who he was married to at the time, claimed otherwise, and released part of a phone call between the two that sparked even more controversy. Is Swift's cease and desist the beginning of the end of their feud? Only time will tell!
