Unless you are a true beauty obsessive, it can be hard to understand the thrill of buying a new lipstick (despite already owning several in a similar shade). You spend hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars a year on cosmetics and skincare. Since you are already spending so much money on makeup, why not make your money work for you? Many major beauty companies offer amazing reward programs for customers that shop a lot. And even if you aren't a beauty junkie, these programs can really be worth it in the long run. Click through the slideshow to check out our favorite beauty reward programs.

Sephora Beauty Insider

If you buy a lot of makeup, chances are you are a Sephora regular. So it's no surprise that the beauty megastore has one of the best reward programs. Sephora's Beauty Insider program has three tiers: Beauty Insider, VIB, and VIB Rouge. It's free to join, and every dollar spent earns you a point. You can then use these points to redeem beauty samples and kits. As a Beauty Insider, you also get a free gift on your birthday, access to in-store classes, and exclusive beauty deals. If you spend $350 in a calendar year (and let's face it, it's not hard), you become a VIB (Very Important Beauty Insider), which let's you shop brand-new products before anyone else and gives you advance access to sales and special gifts. Spend $1,000 in a calendar year, and you'll unlock Rouge status, which comes with free two-day shipping, exclusive access to new products, free makeovers and more. Learn more about the program here.

Ulta's Ultamate Rewards

Ulta's Ultamate Rewards Program is a necessity for any beauty junkie. As a member, you earn a point for every dollar you spend (you can earn up to 5x bonus points on specific purchases). Points can be used toward any purchase and unlike Sephora's rewards, you can apply the points to the products you're already buying. Spend $400 or more within the calendar year, and you'll get upgraded to platinum status, which gets you 1.25 points per dollar spent. Plus, you get a free gift for you birthday AND earn double reward points on purchases made during your birthday month. Find out more here.
