Fast food chain Chick-Fil-A has a pretty good reputation for being the "healthy" food court option. What could be wrong with a simple chicken sandwich, right? One former Chick-Fil-A employee told Reddit customers should avoid buying the Chicken Salad Sandwich. The former employee spilled, "We cool some of the chicken once it's hold time is up and de-bread it and use it in the chicken salad." Gross.
If your looking for healthy options at Chick-Fil-A, Eat This, Not That says to avoid the Spicy Chicken Sandwich Deluxe at all costs. This one sandwich contains more than a day's worth of sodium. The number of ingredients alone is concerning. It has more than 84 ingredients, including MSG and artificial coloring.
Be careful before you consider Chick-Fil-A the "healthy" fast food option. According to Heath Wire, there's some seriously scary stuff in the chain's food other than chicken. These ingredients are clearly hidden on the Chick-Fil-a website (find it here).
However, there's a bright side. More than one Reddit user claimed that Chick-Fil-A is the cleanest restaurant in which they have ever worked. One former employee said, "I worked at chick-fil-a, almost all of the food is great and prepared properly and on that day, the ice machines are cleaned everyday, the refrigerators that house the chicken at least once a week, and even the spouts that the soft drinks come out of are sanitized daily."
Another employee backed up the claim, saying, "Honestly pretty much everything is pretty good. We keep the back super clean, gloves and all that fun stuff to keep from contaminating."
