When it comes to your iPhone and safety hazards, there is no shortage of myths out there. As a smartphone owner, one of the biggest risks you'll encounter is dropping your phone and cracking the screen. Aside from it being a royal pain and, if you decide to fix the glass or replace your phone, a costly royal pain, a cracked screen can potentially affect your health.
But probably not in the way you think.

Legend has it that a cracked screen can expose you to radiation. To date, there is no hard evidence that this is true, so we can breathe a sigh of relief. But that doesn't mean a cracked screen can't cause injuries, namely, cuts on your finger that can lead to infection. Even if the crack on your screen is large and seems to be limited to one spot, there may still be minuscule shards of glass particles that poke out and can cut you. Do you really want glass splinters in your skin? Or falling from your phone to your purse or within your pocket? That's certainly not a risk worth taking just to save money.
