Roger Daltrey Admits He's Going Blind & Deaf
Daltery was performing at Royal Albert Hall in London last Thursday when he took a moment to update the crowd on his health. "The joys of getting old mean you go deaf," he said. "I also now have got the joy going blind."
"Fortunately, I still have my voice," he continued. "Then I'll have a full Tommy," he joked, referencing the fictional character that starred in The Who's 1968 rock opera, Tommy, who is blind, deaf, and mute.
Roger Daltrey Talks About Getting Old
This isn't the first time Daltrey has admitted to falling victim to old age. In an interview with The Times in early 2024, he told the outlet he was at peace with his career winding down now that he's achieved his dream and taken care of his family.
"You've got to be realistic," he said. "You can't live your life forever. Like I said, people my age, we're in the way. There are no guitar strings to be changed on this old instrument." Despite this, the rockstar is still performing in his 8th decade of life with no plans of stopping!
