You know what they say: America runs on Dunkin. Millions of people head to Dunkin Donuts every day to get their morning cup of coffee or a sweet treat from their bakery. Equipped with a tasty variety of coffees, teas, and food items, it’s no wonder why Dunkin has become such a popular coffee destination.

Not only does Dunkin have delicious coffee and food, but it also has friendly employees that are incredibly helpful and accommodating.

But, there’s one thing that customer’s do when ordering food at Dunkin Donuts that seriously inconveniences its employees. Can you guess what it is? Hint: It’s has to do with the drive-thru.

We’re grateful that most Dunkin’s have drive-thru windows because of their convenience but sometimes, they can really slow things down for the employees working the window. Ashlee Rapoza, a Dunkin Donuts Employee, urges customers who are using the drive-thru to keep their orders small and refrain from ordering things in bulk.

“The drive-thru was created so a small amount of items could be purchased quickly and efficiently,” she said. “If you order a bulk of drinks and food through the drive-thru then not only will it frustrate the workers but it will take time and increase the wait time of the customer. Drive-thrus run on a timer so the more you order the more our time goes down.”

So, the next time you need a big order of donuts and a box of joe for a work event or party, skip the drive-thru line and place your order inside. You’ll not only be served in a timely manner, but you’ll be saving the employees a lot of time and grief.
