Sheinelle Jones Announces As New 'Today' Co-Host
Hoda Kotb left Today in January after 26 years with NBC, and since then, the role of Jenna Bush Hager's co-host has been a revolving door. Starting on January 12th, though, her official new co-host will be Sheinelle Jones.
Sheinelle Jones is not a new face for the network—she joined NBC in 2014 as co-host of Weekend Today. In 2019, she joined the weekday's Today show's Third Hour, though she took a break from the show at the end of 2024 through mid-2025 when her husband, Uche Ojeh, was tragically diagnosed with and passed away from an aggressive form of brain cancer.
On the topic of landing this role, Sheinelle says she feels Uche with her: "It feels like Uche's up there with God. He's Mr. Competitive. He's like, 'Alright, let's make this happen for Sheinelle.'"

"This is the announcement I've been waiting for!" another comment reads.
