Executing winged eyeliner takes precision–something that celebrity makeup artist Veronica Lorenz knows all too well. After many years working on movies such as “The Hunger Games,” and with superstars such as Sophia Vergara, Laura Prepon, Diana Ross and more, Lorenz was diagnosed a benign cervical tumor that left her right hand in partial paralysis. She still needed to be able to execute the winged linger look all her clients want–and thus the Vamp Stamp was born!

We’re obsessed with this product because it’s just so perfect for anyone who struggles to free-hand a winged liner look. With just one stamp then a stroke of the brush, and you get absolutely perfect cat eyes in seconds. Anyone can do it. It’s great for beginners or even makeup enthusiasts who want to get perfect winged liner consistently, without the occasional mistake. You’ll definitely save time in front of the mirror–and not to mention all that money on makeup remover (which ain’t cheap).

How to use the Vamp Stamp:

1. Decide what size you want. The first step is to determine what look you are going for. There are three sizes–kitten (or small), medium or large. We’d recommend the Kitten stamp for anyone just starting out with winged liner, and for everyday looks.

2. Mark the spot. The next step is to decide where on your outer lid you want the wing to go. Gently place the stamp on your outer lid and once you’ve found the perfect placement, use a light shadow to mark the spot. This will give you more confidence–aka, precision–when pressing the stamp.

3. Start with the opposite eye to your dominant hand. Using your dominant hand, pick the opposite end of the Vamp Stamp to start (ie. if you’re right-handed, choose the Vamp Stamp marked “L” for left). It will be easier for you to get a hang of using the stamp with your dominant hand (most of us start our eye makeup here, anyways). Here’s what the stamp sides looks like:

4. Dip the stamp into the ink. You can use their Vink Vortex Black Liquid Eyeliner Ink (which is sold separately), or any liquid eyeliner of your choosing. It’s great that you can use your own potted liquid liner–you don’t have to invest in their other products, although the quality is great and we’d recommend them. Make sure the stamp gets completely and evenly covered in ink.

5. Stamp with the V” inward. With the V-shaped end of the stamp touching the corner of your eye, press the stamp firmly and on all corners. Vloggers say that pressing firmly is best. Use your shadow marks to guide placement of the stamp. Press quickly to avoid smudging or smearing.

6. Use liquid liner to connect the stamp with liner on your top lid. You can use their Verge Angle Eyeliner Brush (sold separately) or your own favorite liquid eyeliner to fill in your top liner and clean up the look. Connect the winged liner across your lid all the way to your inner eye.
