Whoopi Goldberg has been slammed on countless occasions for her controversial comments on The View. Who can forget the backlash she faced for saying she had to work for a living?

The 69-year-old EGOT winner has once again come under fire, following some negative comments she made on a recent show about former POTUS, Barack Obama, as well as the state of the Democratic party. Keep reading to find out more…

Whoopi Goldberg Reacts To Barack Obama’s Controversial Remarks About Democrats Needing To ‘Toughen Up’

On the Tuesday, July 16th episode of the talk show, the Color Purple alum and her co-hosts were discussing Barack Obama’s controversial remarks he made at a private fundraiser, where he urged Democrats to “toughen up” and stop “whining” and “navel-glazing” following the 2024 loss.

He said, as per the New York Times: “It’s going to require a little bit less navel-gazing and a little less whining and being in fetal positions. And it’s going to require Democrats to just toughen up.”

And the Sister Act star was extremely vocal about not being happy with the former president’s choice of words.

"Let me remind everybody who was out in the front lines marching when we had the giant marches that went on. It was the people. The people went out. They were not navel-gazing," Goldberg stated.

"It was older people who were saying, 'Why are you touching my Social Security?' It was not people whining. It was about people saying, 'Why are you taking these rights away from my child when my child was born here?'"

She went on to challenge Obama and Shark Tank billionaire Mark Cuban, who has also criticized the Democratic Party's messaging, and insisted: "This has not been about Democrats laying back. This has been about y'all. Because their messaging was always the same."

She went on: "Democrats have been angry at what this man tried to do the last time. They've been angry this time. So, with much due respect to you both, I believe you are pointing the finger at the wrong person when you say Democrats."

Internet Reactions

The Ghost actress was slammed across social media for the way she addressed Obama's comments. "Obama and Cuban make a lot of sense about the Democratic Party. They need to have an opinion besides blaming everything on Trump And Whoopi Goldberg becoming unhinged is not helping," slammed one person in the comment section of a YouTube video, which spoke about Whoopi's "meltdown" on The View.

"Whoopi just whines and cries about everything," wrote a second, while a third said: "Whoopi can't handle the truth." "Whoopi knows her mouth has been the biggest [expletive] in the Democrats so she is taking it personal," quipped a fourth, followed by the crying laughing emoji.

"Whoopi, why couldn't you just stick to movies?" asked a fifth, adding: "You were good at that. What you are bad at is telling us how to live our lives and how to vote." "I just can't take Whoopi seriously, the moment I see her, I laugh," commented a sixth, followed by the crying laughing emoji.

"Let's cancel the view," declared a seventh viewer, as an eighth questioned: "Why is The View considered a serious political opinion?"
