The Absolute Worst Drinks At Starbucks For Weight Loss, According To Nutritionists

Starbucks is the treat we love that sometimes disguises itself as the cold or hot beverage we need right now, right this very minute. Who can blame us? Their coffee beverages are rich, consistently delicious the way few cups of coffee we make at home will ever be, and we don’t have to lift a finger to make them. Oh, and lovely baristas ask if you want whipped cream with your drinks and act totally disappointed if you decline. Seriously, what’s not to love?

Okay, maybe we aren’t enamored with one thing about Starbucks: the calorie content in some of its most tempting and delicious beverages. Indulging in these four Starbucks drinks once in awhile is fine and dandy — because denying ourselves never works for long. But if you’re trying to lose weight and are deciding among your favorite Starbucks drinks, these four are among the absolute worst when it comes to nutritional content.

Starbucks chocolate chip frappuccino

Double Chocolately Chip Créme Frappuccino Blended Créme

Topping the list as one of the most decadent, delicious, and really sugary beverages at Starbucks, we present to you the Double Chocolately Chip Créme Frappuccino Blended Créme, which has mocha-flavored sauce and chocolate chips.

Aside from being a mouthful to order, a grande version of this frapp contains 420 calories, 20 grams of fat, and a whopping 57 grams of sugar — 52 grams of which is pure sugar.

Mocha Frappuccino

Perhaps you feel less guilty forgoing chocolate chips and sticking to a plain old mocha frappuccino. The problem is: a grande version of this simplified beverage actually contains more sugar that it's chocolate-chip cousin. You can expect to consume 65 grams of carbohydrates (61 grams of sugar), 410 calories, and 15 grams of fat.

In the mood for a different type of hot cocoa? Springing for Starbucks' White Hot Chocolate isn't the greatest choice if you're trying to cut down on calories. A grande version with whole milk packs 480 calories, 23 grams of fat, and 55 grams of carbs — all of which are pure sugar.

It's the hot beverage we wait all year to enjoy. Peppermint Hot Chocolate is one of Starbucks' special holiday treats. Unfortunately, a grande version with whole milk has 500 calories, 20 grams of fat, and 68 grams of carbs (61 grams of sugar).

But it's just once a year, right?
