McDonald’s is one of the most popular, and to many, one of the most reliable fast food establishments in the country. However, there are some items on their menu that some consumers and even employees tend to avoid at all costs.
A viral Reddit post sparked a conversation amongst McDonald’s employees, both current and former, about the menu items they’ve deemed “the worst,” and advise against ordering. The foods range from breakfast to dinner, and they even wrote about a few items that are popular fan favorites. Read more about the four foods some McDonald’s workers claim are the “worst” picks on their menu below.
The Big Breakfast
While McDonald's may be famous for their beloved breakfast creations like the McMuffin, one of their morning menu items has not gone over well with employees.
On Reddit, employees wrote about how the Big Breakfast plate, which includes a biscuit, scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, and two of their hashbrowns. While it may sound like a great deal, some workers wrote about how the order is quite unhealthy and not always made with the best ingredients.
"[It has] enough calories for the entire day and enough sodium for the entire day," wrote a Reddit user. "There is nothing healthy about it in any context."
"McDonald's does not care to put good ingredients in it," added another.

The Filet-O-Fish
Although it's one of the more joked about or taboo sandwiches on the McDonald's menu, the Filet-O-Fish is still a classic item on the burger chain's menu. It's been around for years, and offers a much different lunch or dinner option than your average cheeseburger.
Still, several employees under the popular Reddit post commented that they would not recommend it.
"I just hate that kind of fish patty thing," wrote one.
Another employee wrote that while preparing the fish-based sandwich, steaming the buns for it smells "so bad."

The Sausage Breakfast Burrito
Again, unfortunately, another popular breakfast food from McDonald's is not going over very well with some of its workers. On the Reddit thread, the Breakfast Burrito, which contains eggs scrambled with vegetables, sausage, and American cheese, raised some eyebrows among employees.
One worker wrote that it "consists of some questionable, pre-packaged scrambled 'egg' and pepper mix, half a slice of American cheese, and the world's worst tortilla."
"They are all made [at the] start of the day, and sit around until one gets ordered."

The Hot' N Spicy McChicken
The McChicken sandwich is another staple on the McDonald's menu that's just about as famous as burgers like the Big Mac. However, the Hot' n Spicy McChicken in particular, which is made with a spicy chicken burger patty, is not recommended by employees, who called it "terrible" on Reddit.
"Gross!" continued a worker.
McDonald's is such a massive and iconic corporation that it's hard to imagine these menu items would throw off their success, but if you're looking only to get tasty food whenever you visit one of their locations, consider dodging these unfavorable pics from employees.
