If you’re bored at home, the pantry may call your name from the other room. “Eat me!” the salty snacks and jars of peanut butter call out. “We’re delicious!” echo the boxes of Kraft mac and cheese and sleeves of cookies.

While it is possible to put a sensible meal together with the canned vegetables, soups and organic sauces in your pantry, there is one food experts warn you should definitely avoid at all costs.

It might not surprise you, but the nutrition experts we spoke to couldn’t say it loud enough. They practically needed a microphone. Step. Away. From. The. Potato. Chips.

“I love a crunch, too, but chips are often calorie bombs where people consume well over one serving,” celebrity health and wellness expert Joey Thurman, CES, CPT, FNS, of kuudose agrees.

“They have little nutritional value, and are loaded with seed oils!” Yikes!
