5 Foods Dietitians Recommend Eating For Weight Loss

The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023

1. Celery

“While not technically zero calories, celery is pretty close! Some even argue that the energy used for chewing and digesting a stalk of celery will negate the few calories it has,” explained Blakey. “In addition, celery has good water content to maintain proper hydration and provides various nutrients including Vitamin K, folate, potassium, and Vitamin C.”

2. Spinach

“With seven calories per cup, raw spinach will provide a ton of volume to any meal to help fill you up. It is also a good source of Vitamins A, C, K, iron, and folate.”

3. La Croix (Sparkling Water)

This naturally flavored sparkling water is a great alternative to soda and energy drinks. It has zero calories AND zero artificial colors or sweeteners,” said Blakey.

4. Green Tea

“Not only calorie-free, green tea also contains an organic compound called EGCG which acts as a potent antioxidant and may help increase fat burning. The natural l-theanine content helps stabilize the caffeine content for a calm energy source.”

5. Coffee (Black)

“Coffee has a natural appetite suppressant effect so not only does it not have any calories (without cream and sugar), but it may help prevent eating as much after,” said Blakey. “It’s also high in antioxidants and can have cognitive health benefits.”
