If you’re a fine jewelry aficionado then you probably have at least one string of pearls in your collection. Pearls are classic and elegant, I know. But forgive me if I find them to be a little boring. While most people are satisfied with slipping on a string of round, white pearls, I want something that has the same essence but stands out a little more. Enter Canadian designer Bijoux Pierrette d’Entremont. Pierrette’s handcrafted pieces make use of dyed freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones for a look that is both classic and contemporary.
My favorite pieces come from the Jeweled Keshi Pearls collection. Keshi are unique, irregularly shaped-pearls that develop when the mollusk produces a second, unintended pearl sac. The result is a beautiful pearl that has qualities reminiscent of both ordinary pearls and mother-of-pearl. Pierrette combines these accidental treasures with semi-precious stones. The resulting pieces are elegant and unusual. They’re versatile enough to wear all the time whether you’re in a t-shirt or a scoop-neck dress.
With the Amethyst and Citrine Keshi collections, at Bijoux Pierrette d’Entremont Jewelry Designs, pearls will never be boring again.
