Retro-loving, turban-wearing, bike-riding style icon Catherine Baba is about to enter the hearts and minds of more than just Parisian street walkers and Paris fashion week attendees. Her eclectic, 1930s sensibility is now going transatlantic; fine jewelry maker Maison Gripoix (who’ve worked with Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent & Schiaparelli, to name a few) have given Catherine her own fine jewelry line. The 12-piece collection, which just hit Colette.fr, was inspired by the stylist’s own extensive vintage collection and features peacocks, phoenixes and dragons. Oh, my.
Catherine Baba.
And while the stylist (Givenchy, Balmain, Vogue, Chanel) definitely marches to the beat of her own drum, dames like Iris Apfel, who got her own eyewear line, and the ladies from Advanced Style, have certainly paved the way for eccentric taste-makers this year.
