Answer: You really need something that has underwire built into it to give you the proper support. However, something like this Pleated Babydoll from Victoria's Secret ($34.50) could work too. The empire waistline gives some support from underneath, and then because the straps are adjustable you can make them pretty tight to keep everything up and in place.
Unfortunately, you'll probably have to wear your own bra under most of the sexy items on the market. We suggest finding a bra that is really lacey and sexy that can peak out from under a slinky low-cut nightie.
