Do you wash your sweaters after every single wear? If you do, you might want to think again. Unlike other garments, cashmere sweaters are made from more delicate materials, therefore, they need extra care. It’s important to know how to care for cashmere sweaters because they cost a decent amount of money, so you’ll want to keep them in the best shape. Plus, dirty sweaters can attract moths and that’s not fun.

Cashmere sweaters don’t need to be washed after every wear. Because the fabric is so delicate, washing it too often can cause damage. Wash your cashmere every two to three wears. It’s better to hand wash cashmere because of its delicacy, but you can also stick it in a garment bag and set the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Your best bet is to follow the case instructions on the item.
